Here I am again… back to simplicity

Another Day in the Afternoon

with one comment

One hot afternoon bored my twisted mine to the kitchen after reading the Monkey’s blog of recipe. I decided to bake! Hah! I picked to bake apple crumble because it’s quite easy to bake with simple ingredients. So here goes… I double roughly the ingredients given. So it serves roughly 6 or more… or maybe you choose to have it all on your own!

Apple Crumble

  • 2 apples (green apples preferable)
  • 3 cups of self rising flour
  • 4 – 5 tablespoons of butter
  • 4 – 5 tablespoons of sugar
  • A pinch of salt (optional)

* Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Once you have everything, mix all ingredients together in a bowl till they look like bread crumbs, just like the picture above. As for the apples, peel them (if you like) and remove the core (seeds part) before slicing them. Put apples into the bottom of a baking dish,
then the crumbs-like flour over the top covering apples before baking them in the oven for about 30 minutes. Follow the preparation instructions here in detail. *Psst… I’m not a very good instructor myself… tee hee!*

Baking in progress…

Taa-da! Enjoy it with whipped cream, ice-cream, pudding or just eat plain! Too bad I don’t have either… so I have it plain.

Anyway, have fun baking!

  1. Hi, I just now stumbled upon your site whilst I’m hunting on Google as I am seeking some info on wall ovens!. It’s a good website so I bookmarked you and will revisit another day to enjoy a proper read when I can give it more time.
